Burwell Swallows 4-0 Witchford

Swallows started this game much the brighter, Colby, Jack, Ben and Charlie kept the Witchford defence under pressure for the much of the opening 10 mins. The Witchford goal was under constant attack from Colby and Jack, only for the keeper to keep them out. Charlie bossed the midfield and made some superb passes to Ben and Jack on the respective wings. Ben operating on the left wing was a constant threat to our opponents, wining every ball that came his way, and attacking almost at will. After 15mins it was Jack Carter who opened that Swallows account, a great shot that beat the keeper to his near post. Witchford then tested the defending of Henry and Sean, but neither seemed to be under pressure as they dealt with each attack that Witchford mounted. Swallows made a change after 15mins, Josh Lynn coming on for Ben, Josh carried on from where Ben left off, keeping the ball and supplying balls to Colby. Swallows then had their second, and a fine goal it was, Charlie picked the ball up on half way, beat two opponents and sent a diaganol shot to the bottom right of the goal. Great goal Charlie, your best one yet. So 2-0 Swallows, and another change made, on came CJ for Henry in defenece. But Ed Tapper, was the one to keep out Witchford this time, a brave dive at the on rushing attacker kept them at bay. Swallows regrouped and went straight on the attack forcing serveral corners, pressure finally paid off, when Colby scored a true attackers goal, poking home from 2 yards.

Second Half.

Swallows made some changes, on came Matt Howard for Colby and Ben on for Josh.. The team balance did not change, but the hunger for more goals got greater, with Charlie, Jack and Sean all going close. Ed did not have much to do this half, with Sean and CJ keeping the attacks at bay, Ben now back on the left, with a spring in his step, began to run the opposition ragged, wining every ball and attacking down the left with ease. With all the pressure Swallows out on the Witchford defence it would not be long before Swallows added a fourth. With 15mins to go Swallows made a triple substitution, with Thomas, Henry and Colby coming on for Charlie (Your best performance yet keep it up), CJ ( Well done reliable as always), Matthew ( Well done getting better). Swallows began pressing again, with Colby going close, and Sean also going close. Ben produced at great piece of individual skill, beating 3 players on the wing before seeing his shot fizz across the face of the goal. Then came a real team goal, Ed tapper rolle the ball to Sean who found Ben on the left, Ben passed the ball to Thomas, who found Colby, Colby then passed to Josh, who fired in for his first goal.

Today was a great team performance so well done all, you deserved the win today.
